In the video we take a look at what happens to grass under snow and ice. Field mice find their way under the ice and sometimes create an entire subway system much like voles do under turf. I don’t worry much about field mice damage. Snow mold is much more of a problem.

Aeration. More than Pampering?

Lawn aeration had always been a joke to me. A guy would come out, run over the lawn with a quickie aerator, collect his dough, and scamper to the next job. The homeowner would concede, “…I don’t know if it really helps anything – but it sure costs enough, it had BETTER help .”

I scoured articles on aeration and talked to other landscapers. Read, and re-read the features and benefits. Almost everyone agreed, aeration is great!
