Prepare your soil.

Make sure that the seed has firm contact with soil by lightly raking it in after spreading it on the soil. Cover the seeded dirt with a light layer of straw or Penn Mulch.

Then sprinkle the area 2 times per week, making sure to give it 1/2 to 3/4 inch of water each time.
Mow the new grass when it reachs 4 to 5 inches for the first time. Then mow at 3 to 3 1/2 inches forever.
